The short version
This website has no login, no shopping cart and no database. It does not ask for your name, address or any personal detail, and there is nowhere on it for you to submit one. The only information that reaches us is what you choose to send in a WhatsApp message, a phone call or an email.
What is collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and collects your approximate location (city level), device type, browser and the pages you view. It does not tell us who you are.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs — IP address, time of request and which file was requested — which is normal for any website and is used for security and troubleshooting.
Automated agents such as Lighthouse and search-engine crawlers are excluded from analytics, so the numbers reflect real visitors.
The quotation checker
The quotation checker saves your ticked items in your own browser using local storage, so you can come back and finish later. That data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data removes it, as does the "Start again" button.
The enquiry form
The form on the contact page does not send anything to a server. It assembles the text you typed into a WhatsApp message and opens WhatsApp for you. Nothing is stored on this website, and nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp yourself.
What we do with what you send us
If you WhatsApp, call or email Pretech Construction (M) Sdn. Bhd., we keep your message and contact details for as long as needed to quote for and carry out the work, and afterwards for our business records. We use them to reply to you and to do the job. We do not sell them, and we do not add you to a marketing list.
Your message may be visible to the director and to the staff dealing with your enquiry. Where a job involves a consultant, a main contractor or an authority, we may need to share relevant details with them to carry out the work.
Messages you send are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy, not ours. We receive your phone number and WhatsApp display name as part of any message you send.
Third parties
Pages on this site load Google Analytics. Links out to Google Maps, YouTube and WhatsApp open those services, which have their own privacy policies. We do not run advertising trackers or social media pixels on this site.
The contact page has a map of our office that stays switched off until you press "Show map". Nothing is requested from Google Maps, and none of its cookies are set, unless you press it. If you never press it, no map data is loaded at all.
Cookies
The only cookies set are Google Analytics ones. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing here to consent to beyond analytics, which Malaysian law does not currently require consent for. If you would rather not be counted, most browsers can block cookies, or you can use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@pretechcontractor.com or WhatsApp +60 16-659 5547 and we will deal with it.
