Sewerage works

Sewerage reticulation, manholes and connections

Underground sewer lines, manholes and house connections — laid to level, tested, and backfilled so the road above does not settle.

Overview

Sewerage is precision work hidden underground

We have laid full sewerage reticulation for terrace housing schemes at Pekan Linggi, Port Dickson, under SV Construction — pipe runs, manholes, connections and testing — alongside the drainage and road packages on the same sites.

Sewer work is unforgiving. Gradients are fixed by the design and there is very little margin: a line laid slightly flat will block for the next thirty years, and nobody can see the mistake until it does. We set and check invert levels as we lay, and we do not backfill a run before it has been checked.

Because we also do the earthworks and the roads, the trench is excavated, shored, backfilled and compacted by the same crew — which is where settlement problems normally come from when the trades are split between contractors.

Scope

What we handle

From a single house connection to a full scheme reticulation:

  • Sewerage reticulation for housing and commercial schemes
  • Sewer pipe laying to design invert levels
  • Manhole construction, raising and rebuilding
  • Sumps, inspection chambers and gully connections
  • Individual house sewer connections
  • Connection into existing public sewer lines
  • Trench excavation, bedding, shoring and compacted backfill
  • Replacement of broken, sagging or blocked lines
  • Reinstatement of road and apron over sewer trenches
  • Septic tank decommissioning and connection changeover
  • Sewerage works coordinated with road and drainage packages
  • Record levels and as-built information for the consultant

How we work

How a job runs

Tell us the scale

Number of units for a scheme, or the distance from your house to the nearest manhole for a single connection. That alone gets you a usable ballpark.

Levels and route check

We check the connection point, the available fall and what the trench has to cross — the two things that decide whether a job is simple or awkward.

Quotation by run and structure

Priced per metre of pipe by depth, plus each manhole or chamber, so the arithmetic is checkable.

Lay, check, backfill, reinstate

Levels confirmed before backfill, compaction in layers, and the surface above properly reinstated.

Who we work for

Developers, main contractors and house owners

Scheme-scale sewerage almost always comes to us through a developer or main contractor working to a consultant's drawings, and we work to those drawings and their inspection regime.

For individual owners the job is smaller but the rules are the same — and where a connection has to be approved or inspected by the sewerage authority or the local council, we will tell you what is needed before work starts.

  • Housing developers — full scheme reticulation
  • Main contractors sublet on underground services
  • Factories and commercial buildings
  • House owners connecting or replacing a sewer line
  • Owners moving from septic tank to mains sewer
  • Management corporations with failing internal lines
FAQ

Sewerage Works — questions we get asked

How much does a house sewer connection cost?
It depends almost entirely on distance and depth — a short shallow run across soft ground is a different job from a deep run under a driveway. Send us the location and we will look at where the nearest manhole is before giving a figure.
My sewer keeps blocking. Is it the pipe or the usage?
If it blocks repeatedly at the same point, it is usually a sag, a root intrusion or a joint that has dropped — a laying problem, not a usage problem. Clearing it again will not fix it. We would open up at the suspect point and look.
Do you handle the approvals?
We prepare and carry out the work to the consultant's or authority's requirements and support the submission, but the formal approval sits with the owner, the developer or the appointed consultant. We will be clear about who does what before you appoint us.
Will my driveway be dug up and left rough?
No. Reinstatement is part of our quotation, and because we are also a road contractor the surface goes back properly rather than being patched with loose material.
Can you do the sewerage, drainage and road as one package?
Yes — that is exactly how we normally work on housing schemes, and it avoids the usual argument about who damaged whose work.

Need sewerage laid, connected or repaired?

Tell us the number of units, or how far your house is from the nearest manhole, and we will take it from there.
